There is a residential building near the on- ramp of the West Side Highway (344 W 72) that once had a marquee that appears quite elaborate in old photos. A colleague is working on a scheme to recreate a shorter version as there is not mushc sidewalk left. (I understand the on ramp will be closed off soon and Riverside Blvd will be connected to W 72?) Would you know if the original would have had glass or metal between the struts? Although I have seen glass on the dropped metal edges along West End, I do not think I have seen it in the horizontal parts of a marquee. Also, a copper marquee with a curved profile is about one third the cost of a glass-filled one.
